my 2 and a 1/2 year old

My 6 month old
My little girl is getting so big. She has only been around for 2 1/2 years but its funny because i don't remember life without her. Brooklyn is doing so well in school. I just had my first parent teacher conference and her teachers told me that her review was the only one that didn't have any negative remarks on it. They sad that Brooklyn is a very smart, mature and sensitive child. She never is aggressive with other children. They never see her hit, kick or yell at other kids. They in fact said they are working with her and trying to teach her to yell when a child is mean or trying to take her toy. Brooklyn is now in the process of moving out of the toddler room and into the primary preschool classroom. I am a proud mom. Brooklyn never throws a tantrum at home or at school. She still is a little whiner though.

Its been a year since i bought her potty chair and in a couple months one whole without diapers!!!! As you can see she likes to bring company with her into the bathroom. Yesterday at Disneyland we were waiting in line for the tram then when finally our tram was the next one to come she tells me "mommy me need to go peepee". I asked if she could hold it until we got into the park and she sad "yes". I knew it was asking a lot from her. But sure enough without a problem she held it for the ten-15 minutes into the park.

Here are some of the funny things Brooklyn has said lately.

Mom: (i am in the restroom and hear some weird noises) Brooklyn what are you doing?
Brooklyn: I'm doing funny things
Mom: are you, now? what sort of funny are you doing?
Brooklyn:I'm making funny faces at the doggies

Brooklyn:Are you one of my pets? (asking me)
Mom: no i am your mommy but lacey, jayden and romeo are your pets
Brooklyn:are you sure?

anytime I ask her to help me with something and she doesn't want to help she says "mommy yous a big girl mommy, don't worry you can do it by yourself"
I just love my little monster. Watching her grow has been the most amazing experience of my life.

our last two disneyland visits

Disneyland is still one of our favorite places to go. We try to go at least once every other week. Brooklyn's Favs are the Princesses, anyy show or parade and the Tiki room. Our newest rides have been pirates and toy story. Both were a little scary but she seemed to enjoy them too.

Its been a while

Hello everyone. Its been awhile since our last update so I thought I would catch you up.

We are just loving our little slice of heaven. Our apartment is little but the space feels huge. We have definitly settled in and enjoy being home. We have amazing neighbors. The young couple who live upstairs have basicly adopted us. The guy helps me carry in the grocerys, cleans up my dog poop, bring us weekly dvds to watch and even checked in on us after the earthquake.

Brooklyn LOVES having a swimming pool. I keep checking her for gills because she really is a fish. She just jumps right in and swims from end to end with no problem. She will swim for 3 hours straight. She loves to play ring around the rosie, motor boat and shark. I am pretty confidant that she will floatie free by the end of the summer!

Feeling like Sharing

Hello its us again! I cant believe its almost Valentines day again. The older i get the more the saying "Time Flies" rings true.

Brooklyn and I have been busy bees. We were apartment shopping for a long time. We finally found a place we are going to call home. Its not exactly ideal but its the best for now. Its been fun shopping for decorations and furniture for our new home. I bought a nice sectional, new bedding for Brooklyn and my new beds, a new bathroom set, living room decorations. We are starting out a new and it feels so good. I have work really hard paying off my debt the past few years and feel comfortable going out on our own. Moving day is the 23rd, wish us luck.

In true Brooklyn style she went from almost no words to talking in sentances. Once she decides to do someting, she does it and does it well! Brooklyn is just a chatter box. I had wished and prayed for Brooklyn to talk and now i find myself saying, "no more words, close your mouth and sleep!" She just says the funniest things. Here are a few of my favorite Brooklyn quotes from the past few days...

Brooklyn:"me cut out mommy's knee?" (with a confused face)
Mommy: "No you were cut out of my tummy"
Brooklyn: (laugh) "oh yeah" "me see" as she lifts up my shirt to see the scar.
Brooklyn: "mommy cut out Gigi tummy?"
Mommy:"you got it"
Brooklyn: "ewe"
Having a c-section makes explaining things much easier.

Brooklyn: "Mommy please me have two honies" (pointing to her hair while getting ready for school)
Mommy: "you want me to put ponies in your hair, are you sure?" (I almost never put pony tails in her hair)
Brooklyn: "Yeah me two pink honies" (i proceed to put two ponytails in her hair and put her on the sink to look at herself in the mirror)
Mommy: "why did you want ponies in your hair?"
Brooklyn: "Aiden say WOW!" (aiden is her BEST friend from school.
Mommy was left speechless.

Brooklyn's teacher has been asking to talk with me about Brooklyn and the possibility of moving her up into the next class. I have been putting off the conversation simply because i fear change. Last week her teacher and I finally had that conversation and it was very interesting to hear someone from the outside talk about your child. After the conversation I walked away a very proud mommy!!! She said that Brooklyn is very bright. She said that Brooklyn is the teachers little helper. She helps in the "potty training" of the other children" she is the only one fully trained in her class. She is the only child who uses all the toys appropriately. She always cleans up after herself (and the other children)and never needs to be reminded. She uses her words and not her hands. Has great imaginative play. Always follows direction, and that she is the most mature two year old she has ever seen. I of course think Brooklyn is amazing, but to hear a teacher say wonderful things about her just made me proud. I decided to wait till a few months after the move to move her up, plus the youngest kid in the next class up is 30 months so this way Brooklyn will be a little older.

We finally have some winter weather. It went from 80 degrees all January where we were outside in shorts and tank tops playing in the hose and sprinklers to days of rain. The rain has not kept us inside, oh no. Brooklyn and I have played, splashed, ran, drank, strolled and even rolled in the rain. Every hour Brooklyn says "me go play in rain." So out we go no hat and no umbrella. This morning when she woke up she went to the sliding door and said "Oh happy rainy day" even though the sky was black. I love my adventureous child. I would never walk around the block in the rain, splash until my pants were soaked, look up at the sky and try to fill my mouth with rain, lay in the puddle until my underwear were wet unless I had her dragging me by the hand saying "come on mommy". I am so blessed to have her, she forces me to enjoy my life by just living hers.
